A clergyman has alerted that there are fraudsters on the prowl using his name to hold crusades even when he was not involved in the exercise.
The General Overseer of Christ Angels' Ministries (CAM), Iba town, Lagos, Prophet Solomon Ozi David, who disclosed this expressed shock at the development. He noted that the impostors embarked on the exercise with an obvious intent to deceive unsuspecting members of the public.
He said: "This is another ugly face of 419. I am utterly shocked at the length undesirable elements could go in their desperation to swindle people. It is unbelievable that fraudsters could hold a crusade purporting that my ministry was behind it. They printed and pasted posters and banners using the name of my ministry. All these happened without my knowledge and/or consent."
David remarked that information at his disposal revealed that the unscrupulous elements are at it again as they are planning to hold a crusade at Osu town, Ile-Ife, Osun State during the Easter period using his name and ministry as bait to attract people.
Disassociating himself and ministry from the "fake evangelistic effort," he urged the public to "report any person purporting himself as Prophet Solomon Ozi David at Osu town, Ile-Ife, Osun State for a crusade or revival during the Easter period to the police" as his ministry was not planning such for now.
"For the avoidance of doubt," he stated, "apart from our headquarters at Iba town, Lagos and branch at Ijoko-Ota in Ado-Odo Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State headed by Pastor Kabiru Seidu, the other places we are located at the moment are London and Spain where our members hold prayer fellowships. Any other purported branch is fake and should be regarded as such."
David averred that the clarification was necessary to protect his person and reputation, as well as ministry from the sinister activities of the conmen masquerading as gospel preachers.
