An early morning mystery fire in Abeokuta, on Sunday claimed the life of the son of an industrialist and his four daughters which wrecked havoc on their home in the Government Reservation Area of the Ogun State capital.

Deji Ewuoso, director of Long Life Foam and his four daughters whose, ages ranged between four and 10 years, were said to have been caught in the heat of the fire that started at about 1.00a.m.
Luckily, the mother of the four children managed to escape with injuries after she was said to have escaped into safety by jumping on the bonnet of a jeep.

The Ewuoso’s mansion, a twin duplex in the Ibara GRA Housing Estate, was completely razed by the fire, while men of the State Fire Services were said to have been helpless after complaining of lack of water in their engine.

The mystery fire was said to have started at about 1.00 a.m on the ground floor while the Ewuosos were said to be fast asleep on the first floor of the storey building.
Daily Sun learnt that it was a neighbour in the area that alerted the residents to the fire, but all efforts to save the occupants proved abortive as the fire had spread to the next flat.
Daily Sun further learnt that although both late Ewuoso and her wife scampered into safety, they later remembered that their children were still upstairs.

It was in the process of saving his children that late Ewuoso received serious burns and he later died at the State General Hospital where his remains and that of his four daughters were laid side-by-side in the morgue, while relations and sympathisers thronged the hospital yesterday.

Sympathizers who rushed to the scene of the fire wailed uncontrollably as they lamented the fate of the Ewuosos.
It was not immediately possible to ascertain the cause or causes of the fire, which has been described by many residents as the worst in the ancient city.

This is a great piece of history, which is dear to our hearts as people and very much appreciated.

Many thanks to the people who worked hard in the past and those who are still making efforts to keep the institution.

The labour is obviouly worth it. We are proud of you all.

A lot still to be done, with the motivation of the champions of this course, others will follow as well to maintain the institution

May God continue to keep the edifice for development of future generations to the glory of God and the benefits of our fatherland.
