President Olusegun Obasanjo has ordered the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Sunday Ehindero and other relevant agencies to ensure the immediate enforcement of the Supreme Courtís landmark judgment upholding the nullification of Governor Rashidi Ladojaís impeachment.

A statement signed by the presidentís spokeswoman, Mrs. Remi Oyo in Abuja, on Thursday, said the president welcomed the Supreme Court verdict "as an affirmation of the efficacy of the countryís judiciary in the resolution of disputes that are bound to arise as we strive to build and strengthen our democratic institutions."

The president, she said, had therefore, enjoined all citizens and residents of Oyo State to accept the ruling of the Supreme Court in good faith and to go about their affairs as law-abiding citizens in the full assurance that the Federal Government would continue to ensure the maintenance of peace, security, law and order in the state.
