Woman docked for illegal sale of General's land


A businesswoman, Aishatu Abdullahi, alias Fatima Abdullahi Abokie, who allegedly sold a landed property belonging to an Army chief, General Ahmed Abdullahi Abokie, at Parkview Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos for N10 million was ordered to be remanded in prison custody till January next year.

A businesswoman, Aishatu Abdullahi, alias Fatima Abdullahi Abokie, who allegedly sold a landed property belonging to an Army chief, General Ahmed Abdullahi Abokie, at Parkview Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos for N10 million was ordered to be remanded in prison custody till January next year.

Justice Olubunmi Oyewole of an Ikeja High Court issued the order for remand after the arraignment of the accused by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. (EFCC).

The accused, according to a four-count charge of Advance Fee Fraud filed before the court by S. K. Atteh, on behalf of the Chairman, EFCC, allegedly committed the offence on May 1, 2006.

According to the proof of evidence before the trial judge, the accused was alleged to have obtained the sum of N5 million from one Alhaji Abdurrahman Musa Bashir before the deal was exposed.
Aishatu pleaded not guilty to the charges.
