All is now set for the formal declaration of intent to contest the 2007 presidency by the Director of Lagos Business School, Professor Pat Utomi.
The event, which is scheduled for the Yardua Centre, Abuja, tomorrow, was preceeded by a send-forth rally in his honour by friends and supporters in Delta State.
Prominent Nigerians expected to gace the occasion include Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu, renowned Lagos lawyer and human rights activist, Chief Gani Fawehinmi, former Ogun State governor, Chief Olusegun Osoba, President, Nigerian Labour Congress and governorship aspirant in Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomole, Pa Anthony Enahoro, Chief Tom Ikimi, Prince Malik Afegbua, Mrs. Chinyere Afegbua and Chief Patrick Okposo among others.
Utomi, an economist. academic and journalist is promising to restore the dignity of the country through inspired, focused and committed leadership.
Variously described as visionary, courageous and competent, the Professor of Social, Political and Economic Environmental of Business has consistently insisted that Nigeria has no business being poor.
Utomi, who is passionate about Nigeria, was Special Assistant to President Shehu Shagari in the Second Republic.
He was also the Chief Operating Officer of the defunct Volkswagen of Nigeria.
Utomi, who is being speculated to be eyeing the Action Congress (AC) as the platform to realise his presidential ambition.
The politician enjoys tremendous support from youth, professionals and progressive Nigerians desirous of change.
After the declaration rally tomorrow, Utomi would take his campaign to Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
