Baring last minute change in strategy, there are indications that Alhaji Atiku might only declare his ambition but might not announce the platform on which he hopes to actualize his ambition.
Mr. Tony Nwachukwu, Coordinator of the Atiku Consensus Movement (ACM), one of the political groups routing for Atiku for President, told Saturday Sun that the party on which platform the Vice -President is planning to execute his ambition is still being kept close to his chest 'except of course, another development crops up that will necessitate him announcing it, but it is not likely that the name of the party would be disclosed."
He added that though, the Vice-President is still a member of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and there is no law that says when you declare your aspiration, you have to declare the party. 'All one could say is that he has to collect the nomination form before it closes, and the form is still open for collection, so no problem with that", Mr. Nwachukwu maintained.
As at the press time, works are almost completed on the construction of the podium. The canopies were being erected with decorative colours, while chairs were being arranged by about 30 young men.
Reasons for the choice of old parade ground could not be obtained yesterday as politicians have come to be identified with the Eagle Square where such programme is conveniently held under cover seats and flood lights if need be.
Efforts made to reach some of the Vice-President's aides proved abortive as their phones were either out of reach or rang without response.
