The Governing Council of the University of Lagos has approved the appointment of 10 new professors.
The Governing Council of the University of Lagos has approved the appointment of 10 new professors.
A breakdown of the figure indicates that the College of Medicine and the Faculty of Arts produced three professors each, while the Faculties of Pharmacy, Business Administration, Social Sciences and Engineering produced one professor each.
The new professors are: Egri-Okwaji Mathias Taiwo, an accomplished peadiatrician; Adefule-Ositelu Adebukunola Olusola, a 59-year-old surgeon, Akinyeye Olajonipo Abayomi, Akinyele Rufus Taiwo, Duro Oni, Kehinde Abiola John and Ben Emukufia Oghojafor.
Others are Fakiyesi Oluwatayo Caleb, Odusote Mercy Omotunde and James Kweku Renner.
Meanwhile, Professor Sofoluwe is now the deputy vice-chancellor of the University of Lagos.
The Governing Council of the university approved his appointment as deputy vice-chancellor, Management Services.
The appointment, which is for a period of two years took effect from August 30, 2006.
Prior to this appointment, the professor of Computer Science was the Director of Academic Planning.
