Nigerian held over forged passport


The Immigration Department at Busia Border have arrested a Nigerian national for entering into Uganda using a forged passport and visas.

The Immigration Department at Busia Border have arrested a Nigerian national for entering into Uganda using a forged passport and visas.

The Area Senior Immigration Officer, Mr Lodvic Kamugisha identified the suspect as Mr Samuel Amamba Enyinnaya, passport No.A2016085 and a resident of Abia State in Nigeria.

He told Daily Monitor on October 6, that Enunnaya had sneaked into Uganda from Kenya and was arrested after police detectives became suspicious and impounded a bag that had his belongings. He said Enyinnaya first claimed to be Ugandan but was found with a Nigerian passport, which had a counterfeit rubber stamp and cover.

Kamugisha said Enyinnaya, who claims to be a footballer, also had a forged Congolese laissez passer, an equivalent of a passport under the names of Fred Amamba and the same document was indicating that he was Ugandan.

Enyinnaya was also found with three forged visas issued by immigration departments in Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Malawi. He faces charges of illegal entry and possession of forged travel documents.
