Here I am Use Me…Siasia tells Ocean Boys management

Foreseeing what may become of his coaching career when Nigeria Football Association (NFA) eventually hires a foreign tactician for the Super Eagles, Coach Samson Siasia, has decided to take his destiny in his hands by going back to Bayelsa to help Ocean Boys in their CAF Champions League outing.

The former Under-20 player said he was ready to contribute his quota to the Ocean Boys successful outing in the Champions League.

The desire of the NFA to hire a foreign coach has already sent jitters down the spines of the Eagles technical crew, as no one knows the working of the yet-to-be hired tactician, as there might be a complete over-hauling of the system.

But Siasia is not bothered about the call to hire of a foreign coach. He believes no foreign coach can work successfully under the present Nigerian condition.
He said no foreign coach would not like to receive salary as at when due and not to talk about owing him for nine months.

'As things are going, I may go back to my state to help the Ocean Boys, who are now preparing to play in the CAF Champions League", he said.
Siasia's love for Ocean Boys developed when the team sacked their foreign coach, after the Super 4 League victory.

The Belgian coach was already on his way back to his country, when Ocean Boys management had a change of heart to recall him.
Although, the tactician didn't give Maurice Cooreman sack letter as he was verbally decamped from the team.

"I want the club to give me a sack letter officially, so they wouldn't say I was the one that abandoned them. After that, they should pay me about N 3 million they owe me and I'm through with them. I'm ready to quit the club, but only if they pay me what they owe and officially ask me to go," he said before he was recalled.

Now Siasia is preparing to join forces with the team if called upon by the club management and he would not mind working in any capacity just to ensure good outing for Ocean Boys.
The former Super Eagles striker is optimistic that the Bayelsa club would get the best out of the debut in the CAF Champions League.

The Nigerian club would be chasing the record set by Enyimba International in the championship. Enyimba had made a remarkable achievement in the competition by winning the trophy back-to-back.
The Governor Orji Kalu boys were about making it to the semi-final in this year's edition, when they were stopped in the group stage by Orlando Pirates of South Africa.

The oil rich club grabbed the continental ticket recently by winning this year's league after the Super 4 league in Abuja. An excited Blessing Okardi, one of the oustanding stars of the Super League fiesta boasted that with the backing of the teeming fans and in particularly the state government, the sky would be the limit of the team in their quest to beat the record set by Enyimba.

Okardi said the Premiership rookies who finished the Super League without losing a game, were mentally and physically ready to take Africa by storm and expressed delight in the fact that the matches were taken live for the world to watch the quality of Nigerian Premier League adding that the rest of Africa and the world must have taken notes of Ocean Boys' flair and quality.

Meanwhile, Cooreman attributed his team's success story to hard work, dedication and discipline.
The Belgian coach, said there was no secret behind the success other than raw determination and mental discipline, even as he said that the backing of the government was another strong element that galvanized them to get the champions league ticket.
