Man beaten to death over alleged missing manhood

The police in Lagos are now investigating the veracity of a man's claim that his genital organ was caused to disappear by another man who was subsequently beaten to death.

The incident happened on Amosu Igboro Street, Ijanikin on the outskirts of Lagos, in the house of one Samson Olabisi.

It was gathered that Olabisi, on October 1, invited one of his friends, Adewunmi Adewale to his house for a business deal with his (Olabisi) partner.

Adewale, a police source told our correspondent, came to Olabisi's house and a discussion ensued among the three men. The business partner's name was given as Alhaji Azeez Adebayo.

After the discussion, Adewale reportedly left the house but came back moments later in company with seven other men and alleged that Alhaji Adebayo had employed supernatural powers to make his manhood disappear.

Adewale and his friends insisted that Adebayo must restore the allegedly disappeared manhood or be dealt with.

While the man being accused pleaded with the men that he did not do such a thing, the men descended on him, beat him to a pulp and tore off his cloth. They immediately fled the scene.

Sympathisers reportedly rushed the man to a hospital where he was given first aid treatment, but he died later.

Spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, Mr. Olubode Ojajuni, a deputy superintendent of police confirmed the incident to our correspondent on Wednesday.
