As pastor's son, Olusola Ogundare who works at a factory in Ikorodu in Lagos State may soon be sent to prison for theft by an Ikorodu Magistrate court. He was docked last week for allegedly sneaking into the house of Alhaji Ibrahim Baka and carting away the sum of N115, 000.

He pleaded not guilty and was granted by Magistrate Mrs. F A Azeez who declared that Ogundare would know his fate come on October 10 when she is expected to give his ruling.
The charge sheet reads thus: That you Ogundare Olushola of No 18 Tenibegiloju Street Ikorodu in Ikorodu Magisterial District stole the sum of N115000 (one hundred and fifteen thousand Naira), property of Alhaji Ibrahim Bako of the same address and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 330 of the Criminal Code Vol. 12 cap 32. Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2005.
The complainant, Alhaji Bako in the witness box told the court that prior to the day Olushola allegedly stole his money, he had withdrawn N400,000: 00 for his daughter's wedding. He had expended the sum of N285, 000 and kept the rest at home to a nearby shop but was held back by a rain, only to return to discover that his door and bag were His suspicion was based on the fact that Olushola had just returned the cloths he ironed for him to his apartment. He believed that Olusola must have taken the money when he dropped the clothes.
During the cross examination by the counsel to the accused, a composed and unintimidated Alhaji Bako answered all questions especially the one pertaining to the source of money that was allegedly stolen.
Court proceeding so far
Prior to now, all the counsels have addressed the court even attempted to make nonsense of police investigations and the basis (if any) for the theft charge. The prosecutor established circumstantial evidence weighed heavily against the accused who was not known to have entered the house, but waited previously for the complainant.
Alhaji Bako, told our reporter he would 'not lose this case, but if it happens that the Magistrate rules against me, then I will rest my case. All I know is that Nemesis will surely catch up with the guilty one."
Counsel to the accused who described it a mere allegation, added that the fact his client lives in the same house with Alhaji did was not sufficient to state that he stole the money. 'Anyone could have entered the house when Alhaji left that is if there was any money in the house as claimed in the first place."
