A gubernatorial aspirant in Lagos State, Prince Ademola Adeniji-Adele, has promised to create wealth and improve on the security of the state if elected into office next year.
He gave this assurance yesterday in Ikeja where he flagged off his campaign before a huge crowd that was made to observe a minute silence for the slain PDP governorship aspirant, Engr. Funsho Williams.
Speaking at the event, Adele said he was aspiring for the post due to the need to have a credible politician to pilot the affairs of the state and lead it to its pride of place in the next political dispensation.
He regretted the assassination of Williams, who until his untimely death two months ago was a leading gubernatorial aspirant in the state, noting that his death has left a big vacuum within the state's political enclave.
Adele who is pursuing his political aspiration on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), while paying tribute to the deceased said that the only way to immortalise him was to ensure that the party won the next election in the state.
'At a time like this, the party needs men of strong convictions to stand up to be counted. We also need a man of integrity and substance," he said, stressing that his performance record as a former chairman of Lagos Island was yet to be surpassed.
Speaking about his programme for Lagosians, Adele who had a first class honours in Chemical Engineering from the Obafemi Awolowo University decried the current level of poverty and spate of insecurity, as assured that he would devote great attention to tackling them.
He said he had great passion to serve this state and that he was taken time to understudy the problems to preffer solutions.
