At a ‘thank you' party held in her honour at the Planet One in Lagos recently, Genevieve said that being the Face of Lux she has been grouped alongside legends like Marilyn Monroe, Patti Boulaye, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Demi Moore amongst others.
'I thank Unilever Nigeria Plc. for giving me this great opportunity to be an ambassador of a glamorous brand like Lux. It is a privilege to be grouped alongside great women like Marilyn Monroe, Patti Boulaye, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Demi Moore and so on," she said.
Since the exit of Boulaye, the London-based Nigerian singer/ actress as Face of Lux more than 20 years ago, no Nigerian has had such opportunity until Genevieve whose face was used in all the advertising materials of the Lux brand. She appeared in television commercials and outdoor materials. She also participated in Lux corporate and social activities both in Nigeria and Ghana.
Genevieve said: 'In the last one year, I have played a significant role in the reactivation of the brand in Nigeria and Ghana. During this period, I have tried my best in collaboration with Unilever Nigeria Plc. and its various communication agencies in discharging my duties. It has been a good experience especially since I was representing both my country and a prestigious brand such as Lux."
As the Face of Lux, Genevieve produced and released a movie entitled, '30 Days", which premiered in Maryland, USA and also in Canada and United Kingdom last year. According to the actress, who was a special guest at the 34th edition of Nouveau Film Festival in Canada, the film will be premiered before the end of the year.
The Face of Lux contract was in line with the brand's activation scheme tagged, 'Lux Brings Out The Star In You". 'This was based on the ability of individuals to recognize and exploit their talents to achieve fame and recognition. The choice of Genie, as she is fondly called by her admirers, really underscored how a relatively unknown Nigerian can rise to the top of her profession through the realization and utilization of her talents," Lux Brand Manager, Ola Bello said.
