The memory of the late First Lady, Stella Obasanjo, came alive on Thursday in Ota, Ogun State at the traditional wedding of her only son, Muyiwa and his Dominican Republic lover, Imelse.

Father of the groom, President Olusegun Obasanjo, who offered the opening prayers at the ceremony witnessed by personalties from all walks of life, requested the guests to observe a minute's silence in memory of his late wife.
Holding nearly two months to the first anniversary of the death of the First Lady, Obasanjo told the gathering that the groom's mother had been part of the preparation for the occasion before her demise.
According to the president, although Stella was not at the ceremony in person, he believed she was there in spirit.
'What could have been more gracious than having my late wife here," the president said.
The ceremony was conducted strictly under the Yoruba tradition, something that thrilled parents of the bride who came all the way from the United States of America.
Several dignitaries, including the governors of Rivers, Bayelsa, Enugu, Kwara, Kogi, and host, Ogun, attended the wedding.
Chieftains of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), including the National Chairman, Chief Ahmadu Ali, Chairman Board of Trustees, Chief Tony Anenih, and the party's deputy national chairman for the South West, Senator Yinka Omilani, were also at the wedding.
Some members of the National Assembly, led by the President of the Senate, Chief Ken Nnamani, and his deputy, Senator Ibrahim Mantu, also witnessed the event.
Movement was hectic for motorists and pedestrians in the town as major roads were blocked, while many of the guests had to trek from Oju-Ore, about a kilometre, to the Ota Farm, venue of the ceremony.
Muyiwa, who is still studying for his law program in USA, was in his best as he cuddled his heartthrob while exchanging pleasantries with guests.
The ceremony occurred under heavy security, with both plain clothed and regular police, as well as other security agents, in attendance.
The holy matrimony was dated for Saturday, August 19.
