The eldest son of the deceased, Israel, said his father serving in Bosso Police Division, came out around 2am following the raiding of the area by a the robbery suspects and chased them in an attempt to arrest them.

His remains had been deposited at the Minna General Hospital.

Israel said the raid on the area by the robbery suspects resulting to the death of his father was the second in the last one week.

He described his father as a courageous man, who sacrificed himself in protecting the lives and properties of the people of the area.

Osichukwu, who has just taken over from Mr. Ernest Ibhaze as the state police boss, promised that the police would pay all necessary entitlements of the slain officer.
