JOS - GOVERNOR Joshua Dariye has urged President Olusegun Obasanjo to support the North to produce the next president of the country as a way of reciprocating the support given to him by that part of the country in the past eight years.

He stated at the weekend while commissioning the new secretariat of the state's Muslims Pilgrims Welfare Board arguing that with the support the president received from the North and Plateau State in particular, it was only natural for him to support the North to clinch the presidential slot come next year.

Dariye cleared the doubt surrounding his political leaning by urging the people of the state to vote en masse for the Advanced Congress of Democrats (ACD) in next year's elections saying it is the only party that can bring peace and development to the state.
He said the PDP umbrella was now torn and therefore cannot holding the people together hence the people should go for a party which is capable of bringing the people from across the country together.

He called for free and fair elections to avoid violence saying the people should be allowed to pick candidates of their choice.
Dariye urged muslims not to allow themselves be used as an agent of destruction but should work with other well-meaning people for the progress of the state.
