OWERRI - Former Minister of Information, Professor Jerry Gana, has described the worsening security situation in the country as 'most unfortunate and a very bad testimonial for Nigeria".
Professor Gana told PDP members in Owerri during a campaign that something urgent ought to be done to redress the ugly situation.

'The deteriorating security of life and property of Nigerian citizens is not only a serious problem in this day and age but it is also growing into a very bad testimonial for this great country", Gana said.

Making particular reference to the gruesome murder of, Chief Anthony Olufunso Williams, the PDP gubernatorial aspirant in Lagos State, Professor Gana described his death as 'totally unacceptable" to sane minds.

'The death of Williams is totally unacceptable to all of us. It has sent a wrong signal to the rest of the world. It is a shame that Nigeria has continued to crudely eliminate its citizens as if their lives are not worth a penny", Gana lamented.
According to him, anybody who wants to succeed President Olusegun Obasanjo must be ready to move the country to greater heights, stressing that the country cannot afford to toy with the future of the nation and its citizens.
