Enugu State were in the early hours of Monday attacked by
armed robbers who invaded their lodge and snatched 13
handsets and other valuables from them.

The robbers were said to have taken advantage of the power outage in the area, which had been on for the past for months, and the lonely nature of the environment of the corpers' lodge.

Disclosing the incident, the Press Secretary of the Fellowship, Gabriel Olayinka said the bandits dispossessed their victims of many valuables and money.

He blamed the power outage suffered by residents of the area for the attack, saying the area has become insecure because of the activities of hoodlums who terrorize the residents quite often.

Olayinka said the matter was reported to Emene Police Station, adding that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) has assured them of adequate security.

He said: "We have reported the incident to the police and the DPO has assured us that the perpetrators would be tracked down".
Efforts to speak with the DPO at Emene Police Station, Kola Ojetayo and the Police Public Relations Officer, Mike Abattam on the incident proved abortive as they were said to be in a meeting.
