Shekarau, Saraki reshuffle cabinets

Kano State Governor, Mallam Ibrahim Sheka-rau, has reshuffled his cabinet, following the recent voluntary resignation of his former local government Commissioner, Alhaji Sani Abdullahi Rogo.

THISDAY gathered that Shekarau is likely to ask 'a powerful but aggrieved group" within the crisis-ridded All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP), to come up with nomination to enhance reconciliation efforts.

According to a source, 'we are not leaving any stone unturned. We know the 2007 battle will be fought fiercely and therefore we cannot afford to fight with any crack."

Meanwhile, Alhaji Muham-madu Bello of the Ministry of Environment is now in charge of Agric Ministry, replacing Alhaji Ibrahim Garbawho now heads the Information Ministry.

Others are, former Education Commissioner, Hajiya Balaraba Bello Maitama, now in charge of Finance Ministry, while Dr Tijjani Naniya, formerly with Information Ministry now heads Education Ministry, while Alhaji Garba Yusif of Ministry of Land was posted to Ministry of Environment.

In Kwara, Governor Bukola Saraki also yesterday, announced minor cabinet changes which affected only the three old commissioners.

Saraki also sworn-in new commissioner, Engineer Ndako Mohammed, who was posted to the state Ministry of Industries and Solid Minerals.

The three commissioners that were moved include, Alhaji Aliyu Muhammed from the Ministry of Industries and Solid Minerals to Water Resources, Alhaja Nimota Ibrahim from Ministry of Local Goverment and Chieftaincy Affairs to Education, while Barrister Lanre Daibu from Ministry of Educationwas moved to Ministry of Local Goverment and Chieftaincy Affairs.

Those commissioners that retained their positions in the minor cabinet changes are, the commissioner for Information and Home Affairs, Alhaji Raheem Adedoyin, Engineer Yunusa Afolabi ( Works and Transport), Chief Bisi Oloruntoba (Sports and Youths), Alhaji Issa Bawa (Rural Development), Barrister Saka Issau, (Justice), Alhaji saka Onimago (Agriculture), Alhaji Jafar Bio Ibrahim ( Commerce and Cooperative), Barrister segun Olawoyin (Enviroment and Tourism), Alhaji Abdul-Fataah Ahmed ( Finance and Economic Development), Dr. Femi Ogunshola (Health), Barrister Rasaq Atunwa ( Lands and Housing ) and Pastor Moses Awojobi ( Social Welfare and Culture).

However, performing the swearing -in of the new commiassioner, Engineer Ndako Mohammed at the executive council chambers in Ilorin on Wednesday, governor Saraki said that, the commissioner should see his appointment as a call to service.

He said that, the present administration in the state was committed to the overall development of the state and this should be a guideline for the determination of the new commissioner to be up and doing towards taking the state into a greater heights.

Saraki therefore said that, the new commissioner should leave above board and ensure that he offered advise that will move the state forward.
