An angry father in Lagos has scorched his son's head with fire for damaging his transistor radio.
Siasi Francis couldn't think of any other way to punish 15-year-old Michael, who the stepmother had reported as the person that spoilt the radio, than to give him a scar.
He allegedly tied the boy's hands and legs, sat him down and placed a pot of charcoal on his head.
The matter was reported to the district's ruler, Oba Ajibade Agoro, who described the incident as barbaric and tragic.
The Imota Local Government chairman, Mr. Murtala Sanmi, also heard about the case and promised to look into it.
The victim's mother had since taken him to an hospital for treatment.
