KWARANS in disapora have hailed Governor, Bukola Saraki for successfully hosting President Olusegun Obasanjo during his two-day visit to the state last week.
In separate letters of congratulations to the Governor, the Kwara State Association of Nigeria, North American Chapter (KSANG) and the Kwara Professionals in Lagos (KPL) commended Saraki for his numerous developmental projects which Mr. President commissioned in the three senatorial districts during the visit.
In KSANG's congratulatory letter signed by its National President, Dr. Christopher Odetunde, the Association said: ' KSANG would also like to congratulate you on the visit of President Olusegun Obasanjo to our state.
We have been reading about your noble efforts in letting the president know the needs of the citizens of Kwara especially in the areas of: 1) Dualization of Ibadan-Ogbomosho-Ilorin road;2) Rural Electrification of Kwara State;3) Establishment of overall drinking pipe borne water; 4) improvement of our educational system, and 5) Improved health care delivery system among other needs. 'More importantly, we recognize your efforts in the Agricultural sector and what such an effort contributes to national economy."
In its own message, KPL wrote the Governor: 'The Kwara Professionals in Lagos heartily congratulate you for the successful hosting of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, President and Commander-in-Chief of Nigerian Armed Forces, during his duty tour, early this week, to Kwara State.
'Our representatives participated actively in the various programmes and have given us first-hand information on the several projects executed by your administration which were commissioned by Mr. President.
'We are proud of you and this has further encouraged us in our assessment of you as a worthy ambassador of the youths and professionals from Kwara State."
A Kwaran in U.K., Mr. Shola Gbenle, who witnessed the two-day presidential visit also remarked before he jetted back to London at the weekend: 'I didn't know the Governor was that popular."
