Major General Abdulkarim Adisa (rtd) was Saturday involved in an autocrash sustaining serious injuries.

At about 6.18pm Sunday, Adisa was flown out of the country via Ilorin Airport, aboard a chartered plane marked 5N - MAZ. It was said to have been arranged by the Kwara State Government.

Adisa was said to be returning from Iyah Gbede, country home of Major General David Jemibewon where he had attended a birthday function.

Sources said the jeep in which the retired general was travelling had a propeller problem which made it to lose control and ran into the bush.

The former Works & Housing Minister was said to be the only one in the car and he was believed to be sleeping when the accident occurred.

Adisa's bosom friend, Brigadier-General Raji Rasaki who arrived Ilorin Sunday morning was said to have contacted General Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar who arranged a hospital for his treatment in London and were in the process of booking for an air ambulance in Germany when Governor Bukola Saraki immediately ordered for a chartered flight in Lagos for the trip.
Adisa was accompanied to London by the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UTHB) Chief Medical Director, Dr Sulaiman Kuranga and a team of medical personnel from a private clinic in Lagos.
