The Federal Government has been urged to to unravel the killers of Chief Funsho Williams.
The Catholic Archbishop of The Metropolitan See of Lagos, Anthony Cardinal Okogie, made the call while addressing journalists during his 70th birthday anniversary organised by the old students of St. Gregory's College, Lagos, on Saturday in Lagos.
He said government should step up efforts to apprehendWilliams' killers and brought them to justice.
According to him, this will restore the confidence of the people in the government.
He said, 'Williams was a gentleman. A man who could not hurt even a fly. A politicians that practised politics without bitterness. It is very sad and lamentable his shocking and gruesome death."
Also the Bishop of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission and the National Vice-President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Bishop Mike Okonkwo has called on the political class to call their supporters to order and stop bloodshed.
Okonkwo, in a statement on Sunday said, 'We should as a nation learn to play politics without bitterness. Politics is not a do-or-die affair. We must learn to agree to disagree and to know that it is only God that has the power to install anyone into any political office.
'If the Lagos State government can follow through with the promise to fish out the culprits and deal with them, it will send the right message to the perpetrators of evil that they can no longer hide behind the mask. We need to put an end to the long list of unresolved assassinations, he said.
