Another witness corroborates Dikibo's police orderly evidence

Asaba - A female lecturer attached to Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike, Abia State, Mrs. Monica Ife Emosairue has testified in the trial of suspected killers of Chief A.K. Dikibo at Ogwashi Uku High Court as the fifth prosecution witness, corroborating the earlier evidence adduced by Dikibo's Police Orderly, Sgt. Onoyom Okon to show that there was sparodic gunfire at Ishiagu junction on that fateful day.

The witness who said she is currently on secondment to the European Union Federal Government Micro Programme Director for Delta State stunned the court when she said that after the robbery that the robbers helped to push start the taxi cab which she and other passengers boarded from Asaba enroute Kwale.

According to her 'on the fateful day of 6th February, 2004, I boarded a taxi from Asaba enroute to Kwale for an engagement. At about 7.15pm the taxi ran into a gang of armed robbers between Ogwashi-Uku and Ishiagu junction. The robbers immediately opened fire into our taxi and then proceeded to shoot at the tyres of the vehicle, the robbers marched everyone out of the vehicle and dispossed the passengers of various personal belongings and between N20,000 to N50,000 , wrist watch, jewelleries which include a gold chain and earings were forcibly collected from me by the robbers and other passengers also lost various personal effects too".

She also told the court that after the robbery the robbers who were very many posted two of their members who acted as sentry while they (victims) were asked to lie face down and while this was going on, other members of the gang were busy robbing other vehicles, shooting sporadically at vehicles on both sides of the road which were reversing and returning to the direction they came from. Mobile Police Sergeant, Mr. Onoyom Okon attached to late Chief A.K. Dikibo as orderly had on March 23 narrated how a single bullet fired from a band of armed men killed his late boss, Chief A.K.Dikibo at Ishiagu junction on Kwale/Asaba road.
