The lips are one of the greatest asset on the face. Care should be given to them, just like the eye. They come in various shapes and sizes. Some are small. Others are big. Yet others aremoderate.
The lips could be fun to work on, depending on one's creativity. The materials to work on the lips are lip-balm, lip-liner, lip-gloss/lip-glass and lipstick.
Oluchi Kalu, a make up artist has given tips on how to make the lips look elegant.
Quick tips and lip make-ups
Prep the lips with a lip-moisturiser or lip-balm for easy glide. Start by defining the peak of the lips, by drawing a ‘V' shape following the natural lines of your lips. Choose a colour that blends with the colour of your lipstick. Blend in and fill in the lip-liner with a brush. This trick will keep the lipstick in good place. Apply the lipstick, making sure you do not go outside the lip-line. Apply the lip-gloss carefully to avoid bleeding.
Lip-liners
To start creating that perfect pair of lips, use a lip-liner. For the most accurate line, use a sharp pencil.

The most popular beauty product in the world is lipstick, says Kanu. From the corner stone to the larger cosmetic shops, you are sure to find a lipstick.
There is a wide variety of brands, colours, textures and finishes that create those lush and inviting lips. The colour of lipstick chosen should match the rest of the colours on the face.
She also gave general tips on how to care for the lips. She says that to keep your lips soft and smooth, apply a moisturising lip-balm and gently brush 2-3 times a week by using a soft brush. Brush in circular movements to exfoliate the dead end skin off, adding that this will leave your lips flakes-free and soft.
To stop lipstick from bleeding, use a lip-liner or apply a foundation on the lips first.
To create your own smudge-resistant lipstick, blot your lips with tissue, re-apply and blot again. This will absorb the oil in the product and leave the pigment and matte waxes.
Lick your lips before you eat or drink. This prevents your lipstick from coming off.
Lip-liners should be well blended. It is supposed to serve as guideline for the application of lipstick or lip-gloss.
Do not share your lipstick. If it must be shared, scoup with a lip-brush.
A pale skin would need a soft colour, while a darker skin would use a more vibrant colour.
If your lipstick melts because of the hot weather, do not open it. Instead, place it standing upright in the fridge for at least four hours. Sometimes, you can salvage your lip-stick this way.
Use cotton bud to clean up any part of the lipstick that goes off the line.
