Lokoja - Following the inability of the local government council chairmen in Kogi state to prove that the state government has been deducting money from their allocation, the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris yesterday threatened to sue any chairman who henceforth continue to spread such allegation.
The governor who summoned the council bosses to his office said that any council boss who has any problem with his or her executives should go and reconcile rather than spreading false information using the state government.
According to him 'the information reaching me was not pleasant and does not go down well with me because it is something I don't know about and I want to know. I would never tolerate any government functionary to touch local government money and if there is such thing you should let me know"
The Governor said that he felt bad about the rumours, saying that, now is the time to work together for the interest of the state.
Reacting to the governors speech, the chairman of the forum, Chief Gabriel Agoyi pleaded with the governor on behalf of the chairmen adding that the allegation was being spearheaded by disgruntled elements who are out to create confusion and tanish the image of the present administration.
