Road transport giants, Chisco Transport Limited has installed the latest sophisticated electronic surveillance systems to unmask the identity of every armed robber that attacks its buses anywhere in Nigeria even as it embarks on various new measures to provide round the clock protection for all customers.
The sophisticated hi-tech electronic surveillance device has the capacity to capture the identity and portrait of all passengers on board. This effectively guarantees no hiding place for passengers who disguise as robbers and ‘preachers'. Accordingly, it is now mandatory for every passenger to wear a number tag while all staff are being retrained to be more vigilant.
Over N25 million has been spent by the company to procure and install the gadgets in its garages all over the country. Reputed to be the latest in modern technology, the device is already being used to fish out those that reportedly attacked one of Chisco's buses last week. The company which has apologized and reassured all its passengers in the attacked bus, said in a statement that it is working with the Police to apprehend the suspects. The statement added that its chief security officer has concluded his investigations on the issue and is now working with the Police.
Chisco's offensive against robbery and other criminal attacks on its passengers, is not restricted to external forces alone. Internally, it has also overhauled its control systems in a move designed to assert its position as the preferred choice in day and night journeys. These new measures come on the heels of growing incidents of armed robbery attacks on buses of all operators especially in the night.
"We now offer the safest means of road transport in Nigeria", the management of the company said in a statement. Chisco is a conglomerate which covers transport, haulage, courier, hospitality, insurance, real estate and financial services." According to the statement, the various security measures now in place, are capable of tracking all Chisco vehicles anywhere to ensure they hit their proposed destination on time and safely."
It was further revealed that the main focus of the company now is passengers' total safety and comfort from the point of boarding to final destination. To this end, all staff involved in the management of the buses are being trained to become more vigilant.
