The Sokoto State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Garba Mohammed has described the present administration of Governor Bafarawa as excellent in providing the dividends of democracy for the entire people of Sokoto State.
The Deputy Governor made the declaration during the inauguration ceremony of caretaker committees of Democratic Peoples Party(DPP) in Gwadabawa, Goronyo and Gada Local Government.
Alhaji Garba Mohammed told the gathering that the decision of Governor Bafarawa to bring the new party (DPP) in the State was in line with his desire to protect the general interest of the entire people o Sokoto State and the nation in general.
He called on the people to continue to support government policies and programme saying that such support will guarantee the provision of more dividends of democracy to the people. The Deputy Governor pointed out that, the government of Sokoto State has done a lot in building schools, hospitals, roads and the provision of potable drinking water and electrification among other development.
He called on the people to be law abiding to the new democratic party, adding that, no party could develop without peace among its members.
Alhaji Garba also called on the party supporters not to be left behind during 2007 general election and expressed satisfaction over the large turn-out of supporters.
He congratulated the caretaker committee of the party for their inauguration and said that their appointment was based on merit.
In his inauguration speech, the DPP Caretaker Chairman of Sokoto State, Alhaji (Dr) Umarun Kwabo (Jarman Sokoto) told the gathering that the party was aware of the positive changes and maintain peaceful atmosphere in the area.
