UBE secondary school approved for Andoni


It is now known that a Universal Basic Education (UBE) post-primary institution will soon take off in Andoni local government area of Rivers State.....

It is now known that a Universal Basic Education (UBE) post-primary institution will soon take off in Andoni local government area of Rivers State with Inyong- Orong community as the approved site.

The Chairman of the State Local Government Service Commission, Chief (Dr.) Ephraim Eteteh-Owoh disclosed this fact to the delight of the executive members of Inyong-Orong Development Association, Port Harcourt Branch who paid him a courtesy visit in Port Harcourt on July 3, 2006.

He told them that the action was yet another major steps by the government of Sir Dr. Peter Odili to spread qualitative services including Education and social infrastructure to every nooks and crannies of the state.
Dr. Eteteh-Owoh disclosed that tender for the construction of the UBE school complex had already been advertised to further confirm the commitment of government to the early take-off of the project.

According to the Commission's chairman, there would be no excuse by the people of the area not to support the present administration in the state in view of the concern so far shown towards their welfare by Governor Peter Odili and the PDP boss in the state, Prince Uche Secondus.

Eteteh-Owoh spoke about the need for peace and unity among the people in order to attract more attention from government and commended members of the Inyong-Orong Development Association for being in the vanguard to attract progress to the area.

On a request by the association for rehabilitation of an Agricultural farm project, borehole and empowerment of the youths, Chief (Dr.) Eteteh-Owoh promised that he would liaise with the appropriate agencies with a view to have them effected.

Speaking earlier, the president of the Association, Mr. Sampson Peter has described the appointment of Dr. Eteteh Owoh as a welcome development to the entire Andoni people and pledged their loyalty to the state government.
