That do you think about people who think you guys are outcasts when it comes to God?
Are actors not children of God? Are they not born by men and women and is it not God that created them? Or are they from the moon?
The belief is that some of you guys have lifestyles that are anti-God
Then other people who are not actors too are anti-God, if you ask me.
I once read your interview where you said you want to be a pastor
If you want to be a pastor, it is God that will call you. I know I'm a child of God, I'm born again and I want to worship God for the rest of my life. If He now says I have to be on the pulpit and give more messages than the one I'm giving through the movies, why not? I'm propagating the message by acting the films that I act; showing people the ills of being on a bad road, and also showing them the good ones they should take.
I expected to meet a wild woman but what I see is a sharp contrast to that. How does it feel when people have wrong perception of you?
I don't give a damn about what somebody else thinks as long as I'm happy with my life and my families are happy with me. The rest of the world can go to hell.
What would you have been if you were not an actress?
I would have been a musician, don't ask me if I can sing. I can't. I know that one day the lord will break my voice and I will be able to sing. And if I wasn't able to sing, I would have been a lawyer.
A magazine once said you are not the marrying type. How do you feel now that you are married?
Any human being that goes about writing that another is not marriageable must be cursed from his or her family.
That means the person's parents were not engaged or they were not married. God created every woman and man to be married. At the fullest of time, every man and woman will find their partner. So, anyone who goes about writing that I, Eucharia will not be marriageable, their great -grand fathers and their family will not be married.
So, how does it feel to be married?
It is wonderful, because that is what God designed for every woman. You get married and settle with your own man.
We hardly see your husband in the news, why are you keeping him away?
Is my husband an actor or a politician?
I know some actresses' husbands
They can exhibit their husbands if they want, I don't want to exhibit my husband. I am an actress. He is not an actor.
Desmond Elliot once described you as the bomb when it comes to acting, did you undergo any training or is it just natural?
It is an in-born thing. I did not study Theatre Art in school. I read English at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. I read books and watch movies to upgrade my acting skills. I study my environment. What happens outside most times informs some of the little things in acting. I want to say it's God that does everything. Most times it is God that gives talent, it is in-born. I enjoy what I'm doing, it gives me immense pleasure.
How come you escaped the ban of some of these G-10 actors?
I don't want to talk about ban because I heard there was no ban.
But those guys haven't been called to locations
I don't know about that, so I do not want to talk about it. If it is put in the open, I will comment.
Does your husband complain about some of the romantic roles you act in movies?
No, I have a man that understands my job. He met me as an actress. He knows I'm just doing a job. When I finish a job, I just leave it there and come home.
But if he's jealous he never told me. It seems he's comfortable with it. And for me, any man who wants to love me, or stay married to me will have to accept the fact that I'm an actress. If I don't do the romantic roles, some other actresses will do them. My duty is to do whatever job I'm given to the best of my abilities, so long as there is nothing derogatory or degrading about it, so long it is just to propagate positive messages to our society. So, it is all about doing the job and doing it right.
What other things do you do aside acting?
Well, I do business. I have a frozen food store. I run a transportation firm and I sell one or two things once in a while.
I learnt you went to Germany recently. What was the trip all about?
It is a personal thing.
It is widely believed that celebrities' marriages don't last long. What have you been doing to keep yours intact?
I know people who got married a month ago, their marriage is broken and they are not celebrities. It is not happening to celebrities alone or people who are in the news. It is only unfortunate that these people are known, so if anything happens to them everybody gets to know about it. Nobody has the authority to say a marriage will break or not. It's only by the grace of God, you just hand over everything to God and believe that God will take control. I believe I've handed over mine to God; at least, today I'm still married, tomorrow, I might not be married, but I pray that my marriage will last for eternity. Hey, if it breaks down along the road, I'm not going to kill myself but I'm thanking God I'm still there with my man.
How romantic are you?
Very very very romantic
When will you add to Nigeria's population again?
As soon as God gives.
