League defending champions, Enyimba, could have their 1-0 defeat by Gombe United overturned this week when the Disciplinary Committee of the Nigeria Football League (NFL) sit to deliberate on their protest.
The match was played, Sunday at the Gombe Township Stadium.
In a letter sent to the NFL by Enyimba, Monday, it was stated: "The management of Enyimba International FC wishes to protest to the Organizing and Disciplinary Committee of the NFL against Week 12 Premier League Group B match played, July 2, between Gombe United and Enyimba International FC, Aba and demands for the award of three points, three goals, the match scoreline notwithstanding."
Enyimba alleged that their Team Manager's life was threatened, while some fans of the home team harassed and beat up Enyimba players and officials to submission, while also threatening the lives of the officials if they (Gombe) do not win the said match.
Enyimba management paid the mandatory fee for filing the protest.
Meanwhile, six other cases were listed for hearing at the Nigeria Football League's Board Room in Asokoro.
Top on the list is the protest by Rangers International against Kingsley Eleta and Edward Iyonuma both of Dolphins of Port Harcourt.
Rangers are demanding the three points at stake because the two players, who featured in the league match, which took place in Port- Harcourt in May 27 were not eligible to play.
Also listed are the cases of Adamawa United in their encounter with Babanawa FC. The Adamawa side protesting the non- production of players licenses in their matches that were played on the June 14 and 18 at Gombe and Kastina Ala, respectively.
Babanawa on its part, has dragged JUTH FC of Jos to the Committee because the Jos team fielded Iorwuese Sha' Apera in their league match and it is their belief that the player was not eligible to play the match.
The Shehu Gusau led Committee will also take a look at the FC Abuja versus Mighty Jets fixture which could not hold in Abuja because of non availability of venue.
Ebonyi Angels will also appear before the Committee to explain why they did not honour their league date with OUK.
