ABAKALIKI - A 68 years old man, Chief Thomas Ajah whose wife was murdered in the communal crisis that has ravaged Ishiagu Community in Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State has called on the state Police Command to unravel the culprits behind the dastardly act.

Chief Ajah who spoke with journalists in Abakaliki yesterday stated that the death of his pregnant wife Mrs. Elizabeth Ajah devastated his life and left him in perpetual sorrow.
Chief Ajah who wedded his deceased pregnant wife last March 2006 said he lost his first wife in the year 2000 only to remarry this year.

He explained that a group of hoodlums invaded his house in Ogwor, Ishiagu between 11.00-11.30am on the faithful day and shot his pregnant wife dead right in his presence after smashing the louvres of his doors and windows and destroying his vehicles.
He expressed shock over the action of the hoodlums as he stated that he lacks any knowledge of what prompted them as he was never a politician nor do any business in the community to link him with anybody.


Chief Ajah who said he has reported the case to the State Police Command also claimed knowledge of some of the personalities involved in the act which he said he also made known to the police.

Chief Ajah who said he was a diabetic patient explained that his deceased wife was the one who looks after him since his other children from his first wife were grown up and are now living on their own.

He pleaded with the Police to fish out the perpetrators of the evil act to serve as a deterrent to others saying that the unearthing of the culprits to face the wrath of the law would pacify him in this situations.

Chief Ajah who now lives in fear in his village following destruction on his property said his life is now in the hands of God as those who killed his wife may still come after him if adequate security is not put in place.

There has been communal crisis in Ishiagu, Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State for weeks now in which two person are already dead with many others injured and properties destroyed.
