Popular singer, Anthony Awotoye (a.k.a Tony Tetuila) dispelled rumours that he has put one of his back-up singers in the family way. Although he confirmed that his wife-to-be; Demilola Opeoluwa is currently carrying his baby, he hinted that the 24-year-old lady has never been a singer as reported by a section of the media.
In addition to the success recorded, Tetuila who recently signed a mouth watering label deal with Ojez Recording Company, after recording his video clips for his new album titled Free Soldier, thanked God for mercies and the blessings coming his way. While confirming that Demi is carrying his baby, the musician said that the allegation that his wife- to-be was once his back up singer is alarming. He recalled that in his musical career, all his back-up singers have been men and not women.
The award winning artiste, upon hearing the allegation told Daily Sun: 'I don't have any business with gossip because I don't believe in it, I think I'm too busy for that now because am working hard to release my new album".
But when contacted for her views, Demi who hails from Edo State said of Tetuila: 'We've courted for about five years now. I met Tony in 2000 at my friend's apartment when he came to visit his brother. Eventually we started dating. I'm proud that the man who happens to be my first love is Tony. I thank God that I'm carrying his baby and hopefully, he will soon take me to the altar".
Demilola said she is a happy woman today because she had prayed and looked forward to carrying Tony's baby. Her words: ' In fact we are happy and expecting our child. I know as a star, ladies will definitely admire him but I know he will always come back to me because he can't leave me for any other girl. Tony has been a very caring and understanding lover since I met him and he respects the fact that he is my first love. He has showered me with so much love that gave me the room to pray and ask God for a husband like him.
'I wouldn't say that since he met me he has never dated another woman, but he is a man of his words and even when he ever does anything stupid, he confesses to me. He is indeed my best friend because I can tell him anything and above all, he is the love of my life. Tony once dated a girl called Oby when we were courting but I kept my cool because I believe with all the love he has showered on me, he could not afford to leave me for any other girl and I'm proud that he never gave any woman engagement ring and if there is any woman with his engagement ring, I'm the person with the everlasting gift."
The beautiful make-up artiste also reacted to allegations of having been Tetuila's back up singer ' I have never been a singer in my life, even at the church where I worship let alone singing with Tony on stage. I met him in 2000 after he started with his group the Remedies in 1998. I never knew him before then not to talk of singing with him or becoming his back-up singer. Everyone knows all Tetuila's back-up singers are males.
I don't know from where they got all those lies about us. I wouldn't become a singer now because I'm carrying Tony's baby, but I believe challenges will come my way. I pray for the grace of God to overcome them. I must confess how much I appreciate my soul mate because I can't do without him and I hope to spend the rest of my life with him."
