Motorists on Lagos roads fought a hard battle with flood Tuesday as a heavy rain kept the roads awash for hours.

It was like the aftermath of a Tsunami as several accidents were recorded and many vehicles grounded on the water logged roads.

The chaos and commotion caused by the downpour was most noticeable on the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway and the Kirikiri area, which were submerged. Commuters were stranded as traffic came to a standstill.

“I was all the way praying for God to see my car through the flood,” a motorist told Daily Sun, as another told how his car was bashed on both sides and he in turn bashed a car and everybody took the accidents in good faith.

The rain also brought a lull in the business of motor dealers at the Berger area that had been sacked by the flood which also displaced some Lagosians from their homes.

Sokari doesn’t mean joy. Joy is Biobela. Go to the village and ask the meaning of the name.
