Premiership kings, Chelsea FC are to pay £15 million to Manchester United and Lyn FC of Oslo to finally secure the services of Nigerian football whizz kid, John Mikel Obi.

According to a dependable source, the settlement deal was made two weeks ago and the Nigerian prodigy has already resumed at Stamford Bridge, looking up to a new season.

Daily Sunsport gathered exclusively that the English Premiership champions Chelsea have made a payment of £15 million as a settlement to Manchester United and his Norwegian club, Lyn Oslo.

The deal which was reached at the end of a meeting between the three parties involved saw them agreeing in the interest of peace and for the boy to return to active football that the amount be paid as compensation to the two clubs.

According to an impeccable source close to Mikel's manager, John Shittu, the amount had to be paid as compensation given the embarassing level the case was going. Ultimately, before reaching the deal, Mikel was again asked where he would want to play and he reiterated his interest for Chelsea.

Mikel, who has been embroiled in the transfer saga following the settlement has been offered a three year contract, which according to our source would be signed this week to enble him start the season in the summer with Chelsea.

"Mikel's days of worries are over as far as the transfer matters are concerned. A settlement has been reached and the sum of £15 millions paid two weeks ago, as settlement to Manchester United and Lyn Oslo. What is left to be done now is for his work permit to be granted and Nigerians can be rest assured of watching the midfielder play in the Premiership," he said.

Already, reports in the Norwegian press suggest that Manchester United and Lyn Oslo have agreed a compromise deal with Chelsea over John Mikel Obi.

Except for appearances with the Nigerian national squad, the teenager has not played a competitive match for over eight months, when he made his final outing for Lyn.
Mikel became an issue of controversy after he signed a four year deal with Manchester United but later said he did so under duress.
