The Love affairs between a young girl and a man in Ajegunle area of Lagos has resulted in the tragic death of the girl's younger sister.

The Romeo, Chidiebere, now at large, was said to have impregnated his Juliet, Blessing Major, who later had a baby boy for him.

Daily Sun gathered that there had been disagreement over who would take custody of the baby.

On Monday, April 10, the suspect allegedly went to Major's family to take away the two-month-old baby, an action resisted by Blessing and his father, Pius Major.

The following day, the desperate lover went back for the baby, but met another resistance, this time, from Blessing's younger sister, Ifechukwudelu, 23.

It was when two of them were struggling for the baby that the suspect allegedly stabbed Ifechukwudelu.
Blessing narrated to Daily Sun how her lover made fruitless efforts to take the baby away from her, until the day he stabbed her sister.

'My father and I struggled to retrieve the baby from him. It was after people calmed him down and told him to bring his own family so that we could sort things out, that he left," the grieving lady said.
She explained that the following day, the suspect came back, demanding to see the baby. 'But I told him that the baby was sleeping and was having some pains because of the struggle, the previous day.

'He wanted to take the baby away but I refused. So, he ran to the backyard and came back, holding a bottle. He threatened to stab anybody that tried to stop him from taking the baby."
It was at this point that Blessing abandoned the baby in the room and escaped and it was the victim that challenged the fleeing suspect. As he later had access to the baby and discovered that the victim was going to be a barrier, he allegedly stabbed her. The deceased was said to have given up on her way to the hospital.

Blessing, who admitted that Chidiebere was the biological father of the baby, said she refused to allow him take the baby because it was two months old, arguing that, 'it was too small to be left for a single father."

The suspect, who hails from Umuahia, Abia State, has gone into hiding, while the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department, Panti, Yaba, for further investigations.
