Barely 48 hours after he was conferred with a second chieftaincy title, Arole Remoland, Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel yesterday in Shagamu, his ancestral home assured the people of the state that he would not disappoint them.

Daniel who was conferred the title by the paramount ruler of Remoland; Oba Michael Adeniyi Sonariwo had earlier on Thursday received the title of Aare Ajibosun of Owuland from the Olowu of Owu-Abeokuta, Oba Olugbenga Sanya Dosunmu. The titles were part of Daniel's golden jubilee birthday celebration.
In his acceptance speech, the new Arole of Remoland said: "The faith and confidence our Kabiyesi has reposed in me was not something that happened after I became governor. And I want to thank God; I want to thank Kabiyesi for this honour. I want to assure you that I am aware of the expectation of the people and by the special grace of God, this governor and this government will not disappoint you," he said, pointing out that he got his conferment letter from the Akarigbo in 2001.
A statement from the Royal Court of Akarigbo said Daniel was honoured because of his contribution to the development of Ogun State as seen in his people-oriented initiatives.
Said he: "Our son, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Ogun State governor has established a government of performance and demonstrated that he is a competent manager of men, materials and resources positively improving the living conditions of the citizenry". According to him, "the correctness of his vision, philosophy represents Remo's dreams and the dreams of the entire citizenry of Ogun State."
