Aso Rock to Dariye: Soon, you 'll be sent back to UK

There is no end in sight yet for the on-going war of words between the Presidency and Plateau State governor, Chief Joshua Dariye as the irrepressible Presidential aide, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has once again drawn fresh blood with another attack on the embattled governor, reminding him of the impending charges waiting for him in the United Kingdom.

In what seems a follow up to his denouncement of Dariye last week as an 'outcast" for alleging that President Obasanjo was courting his support for his Third Term bid, the presidential mouthpiece said 'Let him be rest assured that at the end of all these, when he longer has immunity, he will be arrested, caged, put in chains and shipped back to the UK to face very serious charges of theft, money laundering, fraud and jumping bail.

When he is convicted, the likelihood is that he will spend the next few decades of his life in jail, so he has plenty to think about other than me".

Chief Fani Kayode further observed that having frittered away his honour and dignity by 'jumping bail like a common criminal in foreign land", the embattled governor should not expect to be treated with respect by Nigerians.

According to him, by his conduct, Dariye had separated himself from many of his governor colleagues who deserve the respect of Nigerians for remaining 'honourable, hardworking, good and decent".
The presidential aide said he had nothing but contempt for the man whom he said had gone down in history as the 'first governor who disgracefully jumped bail from a foreign country after he stole his state money and came running back to Nigeria with his tail between his legs and with a fake Ghanaian passport".

He expressed surprise that Dariye whom he said should devote most of his time thinking about how he would spend the rest of his life in jail whenever his immunity as governor elapsed for his involvement in corruption still had the audacity to criticize him.

'There is also the distinct possibility that once his immunity goes, he may also be charged and prosecuted for a number of offences related to fraud and theft. He may even serve time here in Nigeria before being carted to England", he stated.
