The Premier League kick-off has again been shifted till 15 April to allow clubs to complete the registration for the new season, Nigeria Football League boss Oyuki Obaseki has announced.
The League was to have begun on Saturday but Obaseki said that the recent Census break nationwide has meant that most clubs have failed to beat the registration deadline in time for the league to commence this weekend.
"Only 14 out of 52 clubs have so far submitted completed their registration and as such the new season will have to be put off for another two weeks and will now start on 15 April," said Obaseki at the draw for the new season in Abuja Wednesday night.
First week matches are as follows:
GROUP A
Ranch Bees v Berger
Insurance v Pillars
Rangers v Kwara United
El-Kanemi v Wikki
Dolphins v Bayelsa
GROUP B
Gombe v Kaduna United
Ocean Boys v Sharks
3SC v Lobi
Heartland v Tornadoes
Nasarawa v Enyimba
