Revealed : Why Sambawa is Hard On NFA Staff


THESE are not the best of times for staffers of the Nigeria Football Association, NFA. Just as the Sports Ministry and the Ibrahim Galadima-led NFA continue in their naked dance over who controls the country's football, staffers of the association are yawning hungrily to the biting effects of hardship.

Sports Vanguard gathered that the staff are yet to be paid for three months since after the re-election of Galadima in the Kano.

A very reliable source informed that Sports Minister, Dr. Saidu Samaila Sambawa, had made moves to pay the salaries but was prevailed on by some interested parties who told him that it would be unwise to do so. "They advised the Minister not to pay the staff so that they too will also rise against Galadima and make nonsense of his FIFA-backing", a reliable source said.

Some of the staff of the football house, we gathered, are suffering for what they know nothing about. "Ordinarily, most staff of the NFA are supposed to be Ministry staff. But a line has been drawn between them after some of them attended the Kano election where Galadima was re-elected. Such staff are either on suspension or are working on their own as the Sports Ministry has turned the blind eye on them", our reliable source noted.

Our investigation revealed that such staff are groaning under the hardship as they have nobody in particular to complain to. Acting Scribe, Fanny Amun, was said to be indifferent about their condition. He is part of the ministry.
