Former Rangers International defender, Apam Onyekachi, is lamenting that he has not been able to taste top flight action since his arrival at his new club, FC Nice of France.

The FIFA Under-20 World Youth Championship, discovery is regretting over the thigh injury which has kept him out of action for some weeks, even as his club continue to go down in the French Ligue table after 30 matches in the series.

Onyekachi, who moved to Nice when Super Eagles were on assignment at the African Cup of Nations in Egypt, had the injury when he was trying to impress his new employers in training.
"I have been trying to overcome this terrible injury and by the grace of God it would soon be over. I have been trying to train with my teammates but it really pains me a lot. Nice doctors had tried their best and very soon the wounds would be healed", Apam told Daily Sunsport from France.
When Nice captured the signature of the young Nigerian, they never thought of keeping him on the bench for a long time.

Apam penned a one-and-a-half year loan deal with the French outfit and also a trainee contract.
"Devil is a liar. I know things won't remain like the same way forever. I came here in good health, sound and fit but now, I have been trying to stand. I had planned to play myself into the Nice main team and possibly get a new deal after the expiration of my short-stay contract, but I know God is still on my side because all things work together for good," he said.

Apam was so desperate to leave the local scene, as he had to ignore the Coach Austin Eguavoen's invitation for Egypt outing for Nice party. As Eagles were playing at the Nations Cup, Apam was already in France sweating it out with Nice.

Since the arrival of the young player in France, Nice have yet to make it good in the league as they are 13 on the table, about 7 steps to the relegation zone while Marseille of other Nigerian duo of Taiye Taiwo and Wilson Oruma are comfortably sitting pretty in the 6th position.
"You know I have just joined the team and I have not really played for them per se, I hope they would improve in a bid to escape relegation. I know they would not disappoint the fans who are strongly behind them", Apam added.

The player, who would soon graduate into the national Under-23 team also praised the efforts made by his former local club in the CAF Champions League so far. He said he was confident that Rangers would do well in the race.

"I was one of those who gave Rangers the continental ticket and I know they won't disappoint. By the grace of God, they will play in the final. Rangers have the team and the support of the fans, they can win the cup", he said.

On the issue of coaches to handle the national teams, he said he still believes in Coach Samson Siasia and Austin Eguavoen. He appealed to those in the authorities to give them maximum support to succeed.
"I had played under the two coaches and I can say that they are very good. They may not have all the qualities but they know how to get the results. Football is all about good results and they can make things happen", Apam said.

On the disaffection in football administration, Apam, appealed to the concerned individuals to settle their differences for football to grow in the country because according to him any mistake could take Nigeria back and it would affect Nigerian footballers across the world.
