A new multimillion-naira studio and Digital Equipment for the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Port Harcourt has been commissioned by Governor Peter Odili of Rivers State.
Commissioning the studio, Governor Odili stated that the new equipment would greatly enhance the performance of the station and thanked the management of the Authority for making NTA-PH compete favourably with Abuja in terms of facilities.
He congratulated the Director-General of the authority, Dr. Tonnie Iredia for the progress recorded by the NTA in delivering quality programmes to the nation, since he assumed office as it takes an achiever to bring about the needed facilities to replace the ones gutted by fire about 20 years ago.
The State Chief Executive also commended the General Manager of the Station, Mr. Ade Ayeni for improving the quality of service rendered by the station, which has kept it on its feet, noting that the improved performance of NTA demonstrates the quality of its staff.
He assured that the state government would continue to support the NTA, Port Harcourt in its averred determination to render quality services and urged the station management to always liaise with the government in their areas of need.
Speaking, the Director General of NTA, Dr Tonnie lredia said NTA Port Harcourt remains the leading station in the country, as it parades quality staff, stressing that the studio attracted his attention when he visited the station soon after assumption of office.
Dr lredia explained that the facilities of the station are as good as the ones in Abuja and commended NT A, Port Harcourt for doing wonderfully well among its compatriots and thanked the State Governor, Dr Peter Odili for his cordial relationship and continued assistance to the station.
Earlier, the General Manager NTA, Port Harcourt, Mr. Ade Ayeni said the renovated studio with modern facilities would reposition the station for enhanced performance as the new studio would provide better facilities for talk shows, live programmes and various audience participation productions.
