The hopes of newly registered Advanced Congress of Democrats (ACD) mustering up enough financial muscle to match the PDP and President Olusegun Obasanjo's ratified third term has suffered serious set back, as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has impounded the International Passport of the former Minister of Power and Steel, Alhaji Bashir Dalhatu.
Dalhatu who is expected to be one of those bankrolling the ACD told the Federal High Court, Lagos yesterday that his travel document has been confiscated by the EFCC when the case came up yesterday.
Dalhatu's counsel, Chief Wole Ohanipekun (SAN) who disclosed this was arguing his case at the resumed hearing of a fundamental rights enforcement application brought against the federal government by his client, challenging his arrest and detention.
Following the prayer sought by the respondents that they needed more time to go through the papers filed before the court by Dalhatu, the trial judge adjourned the matter till March 31.
