Omolade Ajibade opened the scoring sheet for Enyimba in the 55th minute, goal keeper Dele Aiyenugba in the 85th minute missed a penalty, however, David Tyakase in the 89th minute doubled the tally for Enyimba as they spanked visiting Manga sports of Gabon 2-0. "We are just building a new team and we played poorly because of in action due to the delay in the take of the 2006 league."

Meanwhile, Ranger FC of Enugu triumphed over Police XI of Botswana 1-0, after loosing so many scoring chances. Chukwuma Akubueze saved the day for the Flying Antelopes, when he brought succor to the game with a 31st minute goal.

Commenting on the match, Coach Lawrence Akpokona said the lapses discovered in yesterday's game would be corrected before any of their subsequent matches.

"All the lapses will definitely be corrected before our next match which likely would be against Police of Congo or Al-Hilal of Sudan" Akpokona said. It would be recalled that Enyimba found themselves in a precarious situation after going down 1-0 to Manga Sports in the first leg match in Libreville, a fortnight ago.

Also Rangers played a 2-2 drew with the Botswana side in their capital, Gaborone, and needed just a goaless draw to cruise into the second round.
