Ever heard of a traditional ruler willing to run an errand for his community? The Olowu of Owu-Abeokuta, Ogun State, Oba Olusanya Adegboyega Dosunmu, is a willing horse ready to run errand for the progress of his subjects

Since his ascension to the throne of his forefathers, last October, the Olowu of Owu, Oba Olusanya Adegboyega Dosunmu, has done everything possible to close ranks with his bother traditional rulers in Abeokuta, the state capital in particular and the state in general.

While his colleagues are reluctant to make positive impact on the lives of their subjects, who were instrumental to their enthronement, Oba Dosunmu, a broadcaster and former Chairman of the old Abeokuta Local Government, said it would be his greatest joy to see that someone's life change for better through his influence and connection.
According to him, he would be personally delighted and joyful to be sent on an errand by any of his subjects 'if only to bring symbiotic relationship between me and my subjects."

He said it would always be rewarding and soothing for him to be part of people's success story.
'I am on the throne today by the grace of God and your co-operation. I am your king, you are my subjects. I must be concerned with your welfare and if need be, I will not mind to run an errand for you to bring meaningful development not only to your life, but to Owu kingdom".

The 13th Olowu to reign in Owu-Abeokuta also said that he was ready to receive from his subjects pieces of advice that would make Owu the envy of other quarters in Abeokuta.
'As your king I'm ready to consider alternative views, particularly from those often called lowly placed in the society.

'Nobody is a repository of ideas, wisdom and knowledge. It is a wrong feeling and notion to assume that since you are up there, you can think and act it alone. No, that's not true in my case. I want to be sent on an errand for the up-lift of mankind. That's my joy and I will be too glad to do just that".

Reflecting on his choice as the Oba and his eventual ascension to the throne, Oba Dosunmu said nothing happens without the wish and will of God. 'As a Christian, I believe that nothing happens to any mortal without the consent of our creator. This, I'm a living witness and I will continue to testify to this, adore Him till the end of my life", stressing that there are better days ahead for the Owu community.

While canvassing unity among brother Obas in Egbaland, Olowu Kanguere stressed that brotherhood among the monarchs was necessary for the continued existence and unity of both Ogun State and Nigeria in general.

He urged his subjects to unite so that leadership and followership will be ready to serve each other for meaningful development would take place in Owu kingdom.
