Joy, as 8 DPOs wear new ranks


Eight Divisional Police Officers (DPO) in Lagos State have been promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP). The lucky DPOs were before now Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP).

Eight Divisional Police Officers (DPO) in Lagos State have been promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP). The lucky DPOs were before now Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP).

They are, Messrs Paul Afolabi, Joseph Akinju, Sule Salami, Ewuosho Martins, Adeleye Oyebade, Uchenna Nwamaka, Isa Umoru and Maik Olotu.

Decorating the officers at the Zone 2 headquarters, Onikan, the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Mr. Gazali Lawal said the aim of every human being is to make progress adding that it was not usually easy to do so.

He explained that the newly promoted officers worked for it, adding that it was one thing to work hard and another thing to be recognised.
'I wish you all the best. You've been level headed. Some of you had fallen by the wayside, maybe, because it is not their destiny, keep the flag flying," Lawal said.
Responding on behalf of the new ACPs, the DPO of Ipaja, Mr. Adeleye Oyebade said they felt honoured.

He thanked the Inspector-General of Police for deeming it fit to promote them to the next rank. Oyebade also thanked all their subordinates and family members who he said helped them to get to the height they found themselves, adding, 'we shall not let the force down.
