Bird-flu strains found in Nigeria this week are nearly identical to those in Asia, suggesting that migrating birds brought the first known cases of H5N1 into Africa.

All Things Considered, February 10, 2006 · Bird-flu strains found in Nigeria this week are nearly identical to those in Asia, suggesting that migrating birds brought the first known cases of H5N1 into Africa. The birds are about to start their trip home, which will take them through central Europe.
