The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the governing council of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Chief S.I Adegbite has resigned his appointment with immediate effect. Adegbite, in a letter of resignation addressed to the Secretary to Oyo State government dated January 27,2006 stated that his decision to quit was due to other commitments.
The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the governing council of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Chief S.I Adegbite has resigned his appointment with immediate effect. Adegbite, in a letter of resignation addressed to the Secretary to Oyo State government dated January 27,2006 stated that his decision to quit was due to other commitments.
'Due to other commitments, I write to resign my appointment on the council with immediate effect," he stated.
He stated further that during his chairmanship of the Governing Council of the university, he was able to launch the student village project, attracted a N30 million student hostel donation from Intercontinental Bank Plc and a donation of N1 million by his group of companies (Oasis Group Ltd) at the last Convocation ceremony when the University's endowment fund was launched.
He added that for two successive years , the university was rated the best state university with more courses fully accredited by the National Universities Commission while a new Vice-Chancellor was also appointed without a rancour by his administration.
He, however, thanked God for the modest achievement of the council under his chairmanship and expressed his appreciation to the two owners, Oyo and Osun state governments who gave him the opportunity to serve.
