For coach Austin Eguavoen, the Super Eagles' next match against the Teranga Lions of Senegal is a must win for Nigeria so as not to rubbish the two victories against Ghana and the Warriors of Zimbabwe.
Eguavoen said yesterday that the only way to avoid a drop in the first round is to beat Senegal in Tuesday's last group game.
He told journalists at the Helnan Port Said hotel that he would put every machinery in place to secure a win over Senegal.
Eguavoen hinted that although it is worrisome that the Eagles' attackers have not scored in two matches played so far, Nigerians back home should have faith with the team.
Said Eguavoen: " The duo of Julius Aghahowa and Obafemi Martins are the fastest attackers in the Nigeria team for now. These two players have rescued the country on several occasions and I have the confidence that they will score in this Nations cup"
On the performance of Cameroun's Samuel Eto'o, Eguavoen said he was not worried about the player's fine form: " My focus for now is on my team and win the Nations Cup. Eto'o is a Camerounian and I don't have the time to think about him. I respeat him but I don't think he can stop us.
Eguavoen stated that Kanu Nwankwo and Mikel Obi would start the game against the Senegalese.
Oruma, who had a bad day against the Zimbabweans promised to rediscover his form if given the chance to play against Senegal.
