Governor Joshua Dariye of Plateau State has said that the freezing of the state's accounts by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) and the clandestine efforts of some politicians to instigate the people in order to destabilize the state will not succeed because he has nothing to hide.

Addressing intending christian pilgrims and board members of the State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board who paid him a courtesy call, Dariye described the activities of EFCC particularly the freezing of the State's account as most unfortunate.
He wondered why the EFCC which has submitted allegations against him at the State House of Assembly for investigation could continue to intimidate the state saying the best thing for the commission to do is to await the outcome of the allegations made against him.
Dariye assured the intending pilgrims and officials of the board that God will open up doors to enable them not only to perform the pilgrimage but to use the period to pray for continuous peace and mutual co-existence in Plateau State and the nation.
Speaking earlier, Chairman of the Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Dr. Musa Asake, said the current situation where EFCC is used as an instrument for settling scores and political vendetta through selective application is an experience that leaves much to be desired
He said the establishment of the commission was seen as a positive move to check corruption but its activities as exemplified by the action taken against Plateau State portends great danger ahead.
He appealed to members of the National Assembly, Federal Government and the Judiciary to wade into the matter with urgency it deserves to save innocent citizens from suffering untold hardship.
